Hi, I’m Cassidy Taylor.
Long before I became a professional mermaid, I was a swimmer. I started swim lessons at a young age and moved through each level so quickly that I was eventually coached directly by the owner of the swim program. Water has never felt foreign to me. It has always felt like home.
I’ve always loved stories, sparkle, and turning ordinary moments into something unforgettable. Today, I’m a performer, a nanny, and the founder of Mermaid Cassidy LLC, but at my core I’m someone who cares deeply about connection. I believe magic is created through presence, intention, and heart.
While many people know me for my mermaid performances, there’s so much more to who I am. I value kindness, creativity, and creating spaces where people feel safe to imagine, celebrate, and dream. My background in swimming gives me the technical strength and safety awareness in the water, and my love of storytelling & performing brings the magic to life.
When I’m not performing, you’ll find me dreaming up new ideas, working with families, planning events, and building a life that blends creativity with purpose. I’m passionate about creating beauty in everyday life and I’m so grateful you’re here to get to know me beyond the tail.

Shello Shello! Mermaid Cassidy is a true Michigan fish, happily calling the Detroit Riverfront and surrounding freshwater waters her home. While many mermaids dream of tropical seas, she finds magic in sunlit shores, hidden coves, and the sparkle of waves along her beloved riverfront.
A girly girl through and through, Mermaid Cassidy adores pink, glitter, pearls, shimmer, and anything that catches the light just right. She believes sparkle is a personality trait, not just an accessory.
Though she loves visiting little guppies at birthdays and festivals, her heart is just as devoted to the inner child in all of us. Mermaid Cassidy creates spaces where adults can step back into whimsy, gossip like sea sisters, swap stories, and remember what it feels like to believe in magic.
She has a soft spot for manatees and loves hearing tales of beluga whales from the far northern seas, though she much prefers warmer waters to icy Arctic swims. Adventure is lovely. Frostbite is not.
Her heart belongs to a charming rogue of the Great Lakes, a pirate known along the shoreline as Austin Driftwood. Together, they share a playful rivalry, a love of adventure, and a mutual agreement that treasure is best measured in laughter and loyalty.
Certified, insured, and trained in water safety, Mermaid Cassidy ensures that every magical moment is grounded in care and professionalism. But above all, she is here to nourish joy, protect wonder, and remind you that magic was never meant to be outgrown.
