Can I tip Mermaid Cassidy?
Yes! Tips are never expected, but they are always appreciated. Mermaid Cassidy puts great care and heart into every appearance, and is extremely grateful when that dedication is noticed. To preserve the magic for guests, any gratuities are best given to the merwrangler once the apperance has ended.
What type of events does Mermaid Cassidy perform at?
Mermaid Cassidy is a family friendly mermaid who performs at a wide variety of events. Appearances include renaissance festivals, community festivals, birthday parties, and educational events focused on water safety. Mermaid Cassidy also offers virtual services such as video calls with a mermaid and personalized mermaid video messages, as well as beach swim up appearances. Do I need to pay a booking deposit?
Yes. To hold your special date, a 25% non-refundable booking deposit is required. The remaining balance is due at least one week before the scheduled event or party.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Sometimes the tides change. If you need to reschedule, we will do our best to find a new date that works. Deposits are non-refundable but may be transferred to a future booking when availability allows.
Can Mermaid Cassidy swim at my child's party?
Swimming may be included at events longer than 30 minutes when water safety, weather, and the location setup allow. If children will be swimming alongside Mermaid Cassidy, at least one sober adult must be present for every five children. For everyone’s safety, children may not climb on or ride Mermaid Cassidy at any time.
Does Mermaid Cassidy have any safety training?
Yes. Mermaid Cassidy is SSI mermaid certified and a certified water safety ambassador through the Red Cross, including training in water safety for parents and caregivers. She is also certified in seizure recognition and first aid, and has nearly ten years of experience working with children while prioritizing safety and care at every event.
Does Mermaid Cassidy carry insurance?
Yes. Mermaid Cassidy is a fully certified and insured professional mermaid, carrying performer’s insurance to help keep every splash safe and worry free.
How does Mermaid Cassidy get around my event?
All events include a merwrangler who assists Mermaid Cassidy in getting around the event, either by wagon or by carrying when needed. Mermaid Cassidy will also need a private area ,preferably a room with a lock, away from guests, especially children, to “tail up” and prepare for her grand entrance.
What safety measures does Mermaid Cassidy follow?
Mermaid Cassidy places safety first at every appearance. Each event is thoughtfully assessed for water conditions, weather, and setup before any swimming takes place. A trained merwrangler is always present to assist and monitor surroundings, and clear boundaries are maintained to keep both guests and Mermaid Cassidy safe. Adult supervision requirements are followed for any water activities, and interactions are designed to be engaging while prioritizing comfort, care, and wellbeing for everyone involved.
How far in advance should I book?
Bookings are guided by Mermaid Cassidy’s availability, so the earlier you reach out, the better. Summer months, especially June through August, are the busiest time for mermaids, and dates tend to fill quickly like the changing tides. Planning ahead helps ensure Mermaid Cassidy can be part of your special day, though last minute requests may be accommodated when availability allows.
Will Mermaid Cassidy travel for events?
Mermaid Cassidy primarily serves locations within 30 miles of her home grotto in the Dearborn Heights area. Events outside of this range may be accommodated for a travel fee. For events located more than two hours from Mermaid Cassidy’s home grotto, overnight accommodations may be required. For those located outside of Michigan, we recommend exploring our virtual offerings, which can be found on the Packages and Pricing page.
Can I book multiple mermaids?
Yes! Booking multiple mermaids is possible, subject to availability. The first hour is $150, with each additional hour at $100. More mermaids means more magic for your event! Additional add-ons are available, see the bottom of the Packages & Pricing page for details.
What do you need from me as the host?
To ensure a safe and magical experience, Mermaid Cassidy requires a private area to “tail up” and prepare for her grand entrance, ideally a room with a lock or a quiet space away from guests. She also needs safe and unobstructed access to the performance area, whether it’s a pool, lake, or other venue, as well as any necessary power, shade, or setup requirements depending on the event. For swimming events with children, adult supervision is required, and clear communication throughout the event helps everything run smoothly. A backup plan in case of weather-related incidents is also needed, and any photos taken at the event may be used by Mermaid Cassidy for marketing and business purposes. Providing these ensures Mermaid Cassidy can focus on creating an unforgettable and magical experience for you and your guests.
Can I request a specific tail?
Yes, of course! Mermaid Cassidy’s tail options are displayed at the bottom of the Gallery page. When submitting your booking inquiry, please include the name of the tail you would like to request so we can make your magical experience exactly as you imagine.
Does Mermaid Cassidy offer any discounts?
Mermaid Cassidy occasionally offers sales and discounts at her own discretion, which are announced on her social media pages. Each promotion is subject to its own terms and conditions, including the duration of the sale, availability of discounted bookings, and applicable event types. Discounts cannot be applied to bookings that have already been made and are subject to standard non-refundable deposit policies.
